ZiaNet is able to provide economical dedicated connections in most communities in New Mexico because our statewide T3/DS3 fiber backbone reduces costs and makes connectivity affordable. As a result, we can provide economical pricing in areas where high per-mile charges have prevented businesses from using modern data communication services in the past. In most cases ZiaNet can provide pricing in rural communities that is comparable to prices normally found only in the larger cities.
ZiaNet's upstream Internet access consists of a 45 Mbps connection (T3/DS3) to the Sprint Internet backbone from our point-of-presence (POP) in Las Cruces, NM and a 45 Mbps connection to the UUNET Internet backbone from our POP in Albuquerque. There is OC3 (155 Mbps) ATM connectivity between these two POPs. We also have a fractional DS3 connection to another local Internet provider.
