Windows Live Mail
Windows Live Mail is the mail and newsgroup component of Windows Live.
You can configure it to access your ZiaNet email account by following these instructions.
Setting Up an Account in Windows Live Mail
- Open Windows Live Mail
- Look low on the left in the sidebar and click "Add an e-mail account"
- The "Add an E-mail Account" window will open.
Fill in the blanks with your information.
- Type your email address into the e-mail address box.
- Type your password into the password box.
- Type your name into the Display Name box.
You can use a nickname, or a business or organization name here if you wish. - Check the box next to "Manually configure server settings."
- When complete, click Next.
- Fill in the next page as follows:
- Leave the first option set to POP3.
- In the "Incoming Server" box type mail.zianet.com.
- Do not check "This server requires a secure connection [SSL]".
- Select Clear Text Password from the "Logon using" option.
- Type your username into the Login ID box (do not include the @zianet.com).
- In the "Outgoing Server" box, type mail.zianet.com.
- Check the box next to "My Outgoing server requires authentication"
- When complete click Finish

Mozilla Thunderbird E-Mail Setup
These instructions show you how to configure Mozilla Thunderbird 12 to work with your ZiaNet e-mail account. The settings used in this instruction set can be used for all versions of Mozilla Thunderbird but the screens may look somewhat different from one version to another.
To Set Up Your E-mail Account in Mozilla Thunderbird
- In Mozilla Thunderbird, click on Local Folders at the left side of the screen and then click Create Account on the right.
- On the Mail Account Setup window, enter your name, e-mail address, and password then click Continue.
- The setup wizard will attempt to look up the account settings. Click Manual config
- On the next window, enter the following information:
- Server Type
- To the right of Incoming, select POP3 from the dropdown box.
- Server hostname
- Server hostname for both incoming and outgoing is mail.zianet.com.
- Port
- Select 110 for the incoming port and 587 for the outgoing port.
- SSL
- Select None for both incoming and outgoing.
- Authentication
- Select Normal Password
- You may get a Warning! window. Put a check in "I unerstand the risks" and click Create Account.
- Congratulations! You have completed the e-mail account setup for Mozilla Thunderbird.

Click Create Account.
 


Microsoft Outlook E-Mail Setup
These instructions show you how to configure Microsoft Outlook 2003® to work with your ZiaNet e-mail account. The settings used in this instruction set can be used for all versions of Microsoft Outlook but the screens may look somewhat different.
To Set Up Your E-mail Account in Microsoft Outlook
- In Microsoft Outlook, from the E-mail Accounts menu, select Tools.
 
- On the E-mail Accounts wizard window, select Add a new e-mail account, then click Next.
- Select POP3, then click Next.
- On the Internet E-mail Settings window, enter your information as follows:
  - Your Name
- Your first and last name.
This can also be the name of a Business or Organization
- E-mail Address
- Your ZiaNet email address.
- User Name
- The part of your email address before the @ sign.
- Password
- Your email account password.
- Incoming mail server (POP3)
- mail.zianet.com
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP)
- mail.zianet.com
- On the Internet E-mail Settings window, go to the Outgoing Server tab.
- Select My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
- Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
- Go to the Advanced tab, and change the Outgoing server (SMTP) port to 587.
- Click OK.
- Click Next.
- Click Finish.

Click More Settings.

Microsoft Outlook 2010 E-Mail Setup
These instructions show you how to configure Microsoft Outlook 2010® to work with your ZiaNet e-mail account. The settings used in this instruction set can be used for all versions of Microsoft Outlook but some of the screens will look different.
To Set Up Your E-mail Account in Microsoft Outlook 2010
- In Microsoft Outlook, click on File, and then clickInfo.
In the main window, click Account Settings, and then click Add Account
- On the "Auto Account Setup" window, enter the following:
- Your Name (This can also be a nick-name, business, or organization name)
- Your e-mail address
- Your Password (re-type your password)
- Click to check the Manually configure server settings or additional server types check box.
- Click Next
- On the Choose E-mail Service window, select Internet E-mail, and then click Next.
- On the Internet E-mail Settings window, enter your information as follows:
  - Your Name
- Your first and last name.
This can also be the name of a Business or Organization
- E-mail Address
- Your ZiaNet e-mail address.
- User Name
- The part of your e-mail address before the @ sign.
- Password
- Your e-mail account password.
- Incoming mail server (POP3)
- mail.zianet.com
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP)
- mail.zianet.com
- On the Internet E-mail Settings window, go to the Outgoing Server tab.
- Select My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
- Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
- Go to the Advanced tab and change the Outgoing server (SMTP) port to 587.
- Click OK.
- Click Next.
- Click Finish.

Add Additional Mac Mail Account
This instruction set will walk you through adding a zianet.com email account in Mac Mail. The images here may be slightly different than those you have in your version of Mac Mail but the settings are the same for all versions.

If you already have your zianet.com account in Mac Mail and just want to check the settings, click here.
If you are already using Mac Mail, and just want to add another e-mail account, continue on this page.
Open Mac Mail. The Icon looks like a postage stamp
Once you've opened Mail, click on the menu labeled "Mail", and select "Preferences".
The Mac Mail preferences window will appear.
Click the + button (lower left of the window).
The Welcome to Mail dialog box will appear.
In the Full Name field, type your name.
In the E-mail Address field, type your full zianet.com e-mail address.
In the Incoming mail server field, type in mail.zianet.com
Click the arrow box on the Account Type pop-up list and choose POP.
In the User Name field, type your username. This is the part of the e-mail address before the @ sign.
In the Password field, type your ZiaNet password.
In the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) field, type in mail.zianet.com.
Click OK.
At this point, Mail will attempt to contact the mail server.
If it is not successful, click "Continue" on the warning message.
Click No.
Congratulations, your Mac Mail is ready to send and receive e-mail for the new account
